London Fashion Week S/S 12
With another successful London Fashion Week (http://www.londonfashionweek.co.uk/) coming to an end, I can finally sit down and update my blog!
Obscure Couture
The past month has been very busy in Pea Cooper Millinery as I was collaborating with the amazing design duo Obscure Couture (http://www.obscure-couture.com/) in making hats to compliment their damn fine clothing, for their two shows at London Fashion Week.
Us vs Them
The SS12 collection is called ‘Us Vs Them’. The girls took inspiration from the social groups around them, from street gangs and their exaggerated, agressive silhouettes to kaleidoscopic and edgy creative circles. It is a fun collection juxtaposing everyday street-inspired silhouettes and symbolism against luxurious fabrics and intricate techniques whilst still keeping a crucial high fashion edge.
Fabrics
The collection features bold clashing colours in vibrant, rich jewel tones supported by a neutral base with a sport luxe undertone. Fabrics include; silks, chiffons, metalic leathers, silk jersey, prints and hand knits throughout. My contribution consisted of leather and tartan visors, oversized bows and mini leather skip hats. The metalic leather was great to work with and I’ll definately be using it again for some of my own work!
Back home in Scotland I’m busy making a Ready to Wear collection that will shortly be available to buy from the website aswell as a couture bridal range.
Photos of my own Spring/Summer 12 range will be on the website soon and I’ve also got a few more things up my sleeve that I’ll tell you about in a few weeks.
